About 14U Baseball

14U Baseball has two tiers. Silver plays on 80-foot bases with a 55-foot mound — the same as 13U — and plays 6 innings per game. Gold plays on 90-foot bases with a 60'6" mound (full regulation dimensions) and plays 7 innings per game. Gold is the same field your players will step onto in high school.

Bat rules tighten at 14U: drop -5 maximum. This is closer to the BBCOR (-3) standard used in high school, preparing players for the transition. The Wednesday doubleheader format means teams play two full games each week plus practices — physical and mental demands are real.

Players at 14U are routinely noticed by high school coaches. Attitude, work ethic, and coachability matter as much as raw ability. This is the division where leaders are built.

Coach's Note

"Know your tier — Silver and Gold have different field dimensions and innings counts. At 14U, roster management is as important as practice planning. Know which pitchers are available each doubleheader. Track pitch counts across both games — the 95-pitch daily max applies to the entire doubleheader. BBCOR bats are legal but not required; drop -5 is the SRAA standard."
